UFC Vegas 65 Results

The night went off without a hitch and the UFC Vegas 65 results are in. UFC Vegas 65, Lewis vs Spivac, should have headlined the event. A non-covid, non-weight cut illness caused Lewis to pull out of the event at the last minute. The co-main event was moved up. It featured two light heavyweight fighters Nzechukwu vs Cutelaba. Kennedy Nzechukwu, the slightly favored fighter, coming off of a 3rd KO at his last showing. Ion Cutelaba was coming off of back to back losses. It was maybe not the headline the fans were after, but the fighters rose to the challenge and put on a great show.

In the first round of the main event, Ion Cutelaba looked to be the better prepared fighter. He was relentless with his takedowns and defended one from Kennedy Nzechukwu. The Nigerian, Nzechukwu, turned on the heat in the second round. The end for Cutelaba began with a knee that rocked him early in the round. Nzechukwu turned the heat up further, and after many unanswered strikes, the referee had seen enough and called it at 1:02 of round 2.

Here’s the post-fight press conference, courtesy of the UFC. The remainder of the UFC Vegas 65 results can be seen below. Some audio issues happen about halfway through Kennedy’s interview.
