UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones DWI Sentencing Postponed Until Next Month

UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on May 19th after he drove his vehicle into a pole.  The 24-year-old champion plead guilty to the charges on May 29 and struck a deal with the courts to lighten his charges.

Jones was to be sentenced this week, for the misdemeanor charge in Binghamton, N.Y., but was rescheduled to July 3 for undisclosed reasons.  According to a report from PressConnects.com:

Sentencing for “Bones” Jones, 24, was originally scheduled for Tuesday in Binghamton City Court. It has been rescheduled for 9 a.m., July 3.  Jones, a Union-Endicott High School graduate who currently lives in Ithaca, was behind the wheel of a 2012 Bentley that struck a utility pole May 19 at Grand Boulevard and Helen Street on the city’s West Side.  According to police reports, the two passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center.  He pleaded guilty to DWI on May 29.  Under a plea agreement with the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, Jones is expected to receive a one-year conditional discharge and pay a fine of up to $1,500.  He would also be required to install ignition interlock devices in his vehicles, pay restitution for damage, undergo a substance dependency evaluation and attend a victim impact class.

Jon Jones is scheduled to defend his title against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on September 1, 2012.  It seems that Jones has enough on his plate without having the added stress of this misdemeanor charge but hopefully he takes it as a learning experience and grows from it.

It is Normal ! Respect has nothing to do with Cheer. I Don’t see any preblom about US Crowd cheer for their fighters. Have you already Seen a Wanderley Fight ? Once Again: Respect has nothing to do with Cheer Have you Seen Shogun Vs Hendo? Absolutly Normal the American Crowd Screaming: USA , USA , USA , Did you expect them screaming Brazil Brazil Brazil ??? In Some Points of the fight they have screamed Shogun Shogun Shogun But The Most Important After the End of the Fight Both have earned a lot of Applauses !!!

I would expect them to cheer for the fhietgr they want to win. If they were chanting: Hendo! , Hendo! it would have been fine. It’s not about the USA, not about Brazil or any other nation any of the fhietgrs were born. It’s about two fhietgrs trying to be the best. Cheer for the fhietgr you want to win, but leave the stupid Nationalistic nonsense out of the cage please!
