UFC Fight Night Main Event Results

Marlon Vera vs Cory Sandhagen saw an aggressive Cory Sandhagen from the bell. It appeared obvious that he was going to put the pressure on Vera early and keep him on the back foot.

Vera found a few successes with some hard shots, and a nasty elbow which cut Sandhagen’s scalp. Otherwise, it was all Cory Sandhagen. He mixed up his striking well and kept Marlon Vera frustrated. Cory was able to keep pace with his boxing and offered a couple of his flying knees.

In the final round, Marlon Vera looked to try to turn up the urgency but a Cory Sandhagen takedown took the steam out. With under a minute left both fighters still had plenty of gas. Marlon Vera finished with a flurry but it was too little too late.

The official scorecards read, 48-47 Vera, 50-45 Sandhagen, 49-46 Cory Sandhagen. Whoever gave this fight to Vera must’ve had something better to watch than this fight. It seemed a great way for Cory Sandhagen to announce he is ready to face division champion Aljamain Sterling, instead he called out Merab Dvalishvili and said he wants that #1 spot.

Co-main Event Results

Holly Holm vs Yana Santos started out with Santos trying to close the distance with punching flurries. Holm ended up being the one taking the match to the ground however.

Round after round Holly would exchange with Yana Santos until an opportunity presented itself to take her opponent down and impose some good ground and pound.

Finally, the judges called it 30-26, 30-27, and 30-27 for Holly ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ Holm. A dominating performance for the #3 ranked women’s bantamweight legend. Accordingly it looks like Holly Holm is making a statement that she’s coming for the title.
