The UFC Fight Night Ortega vs Rodriguez results are in. It was an entertaining…day? That’s right, the fights went on much earlier than usual. The event went down Saturday, July 16, 2022 from the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.

Headlining the card was #2 Brian Ortega vs #3 Yair Rodriguez. With big title implications the fighters came out busy. The fight had it’s back and forths but it was Yair Rodriguez who came out with the win. It was in the second round that Ortega was escaping an arm bar and somehow dislocated his shoulder stopping the fight via TKO.

The co-main event was #10 Michelle Waterson-Gomez vs #11 Amanda Lemos in the women’s strawweight division. This highly anticipated fight came on the heels of a Lemos loss in which she was taken out by one of the UFC’s top 10 Female fighters, Jessica Andrade. Lemos looked sharp today, however, when she got the second round submission win over the “Karate Hottie”. The referee didn’t notice the tap out but Lemos released and Michelle did not object to the fact. Two amazing athletes and people.

The remaining fights on the card were also highly entertaining. Dustin Jacoby pulled off a first round KO against Da-Un Jung that many believed an early stoppage, (though we disagree). Schnell vs Sumudaerji was one of the most entertaining fights of the year. Li Jingliang is a star worth watching. Check below the post fight press conference, courtesy of the UFC, for the remaining results.

That’s it for the UFC Fight Night Ortega vs Rodriguez results. UFC Long Island lived up to the hype and the matches saw many fighters stocks rise. Be on the lookout for some rising talent making their marks. If Jourdain gets his ground game skills up it’ll be hard to match his striking output.
