Main Event

In the main event, #2 Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway took on 10 fight win streak and #4 ranked Arnold ‘Almighty’ Allen in a featherweight bout. The match had heavy title implications for the winner of Yair Rodriguez and Alexander Volkanovski.

The entire fight was indeed a great showcase for these two. Holloway was able to avoid danger while simultaneously asserting himself as a better striker. Allen was able to get high-level experience, all while proving he belonged with the best in the world. The fight was summed up by Holloway mastering the range significantly with his superior reach and boxing.

Before the final round, Arnold Allen was told to go to war. Moreover a stoppage was his only path to victory. Immediately Allen began to try to basically punch his way in. Holloway answered with jabs and a spinning elbow that connected flush. The elbow likely, significantly stunned Allen as his pace slowed for a moment. With a minute remaining, Allen held Holloway against the fence and looked to be going for a takedown. He never got it though and with 7 seconds remaining they broke. Allen was looking for blood, but Holloway got the better of the exchange until the buzzer.

Both men displayed undeniably great sportsmanship. Even at the end of the fight with each fighter trying to similarly take the other’s head off. They hugged it out in the octagon but it appeared Allen knew the results before the card was read. All three judges, (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) for Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway.
