The co-main event was the UFC #1 Women’s pound for pound champion Valentina Shevchenko defending her Flyweight championship against #4 ranked Women’s Flyweight contender Taila Santos. Santos was very threatening in the first round, controlling much of it while on Shevchenko’s back. The first half of the fight favored the challenger. The split decision went to the reigning champion in an unbelievably close fight.

Also, any unanswered questions were met when the #2 Women’s Strawweight competitor Zhang Weili met, for the second time, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in an attempt to recapture the fireworks from their first encounter. Zhang Weili controlled the fight early on with some impressive ground control until she put all questions to bed with a second round spinning hammer fist that ended Joanna’s night.
