UFC 145: Results and Post Fight Interview

Well the time has come and gone and hopefully you didn’t miss out on an exciting night of fights.  All the fighters tonight put on great performances in a highly anticipated mma event.

Main Event

Jones vs Evans went the distance but it was Jones who secured the win in a fairly one sided, 25 minute, stand up bout.   The champion out landed Evans in significant strikes by more than 2:1.  Evans made many attempts but was unable to take the fight to the ground, he went 0 for 4 on his takedown attempts for the night.  This makes the 3rd consecutive UFC title defense for Jones, now (16-1), and solidifies him as a top pound for pound fighter.

Pay-per-view

The co main event of the night ended in round 2 where Rory ‘Ares’ MacDonald (13-1-0) got the referee to step in and save Che ‘Beautiful’ Mills (14-5-0, 1NC) from a barrage of punches.

Ben Rothwell (32-8-0) earned a k.o. victory over Brendan ‘The Hybrid’ Schaub (9-3-0) after a counter hook found its mark in the first round.

Michael ‘Mayday’ McDonald (15-1-0) got a 1st round k.o. against his opponent Miguel Angel Torres (39-5-0)

Mark ‘The Machine’ Hominick (20-11-0) vs. Eddie ‘The Filipino Phenom’ Yagin (15-4-1) went the distance where Eddie earned the split decision.

Mark Bocek (10-5-0) beat John ‘The Natural’ Alessio (34-15-0) in a unanimous decision.

Undercard

Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne (13-0-1) vs. Chad ‘The Grave Digger’ Griggs (11-2-0) ended in a win for Browne by way of arm-triangle.

Matt ‘The Immortal’ Brown (16-11-0) vs. Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson (6-1-0) gets Matt back in the winners circle with a win by unanimous decision.

Anthony ‘The Assassin’ Njokuani (16-6-0) vs. John ‘The Bull’ Makdessi (9-2-0) results in The Assassin getting a unanimous decision.

Mac Danzig (22-9-1) defeated Efrain ‘Hecho En Mexico’ Escudero (19-5-0) by unanimous decision.

Chris ‘The Menace’ Clements (11-4-0) got the split decision over his opponent Keith Wisniewski (28-13-1)

Marcus ‘The Bama Beast’ Brimage (5-1-0) vs. Maximo Blanco (8-4-1, 1NC) resulted in a Brimage split decision victory.
