TUF Season 31 Coaches, Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler

That’s right, TUF season 31 coaches are announced and ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor will be coaching opposite of lightweight contender and #5 ranked ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler.
With that said, the event airs on ESPN+ on May 30, 2023. Applications are open and you can apply at this UFC link at the time of posting.
Eventually, the coaches will square off in one of the most anticipated fights, hopefully of late 2023. It’s unclear what weight division the fight will take place at, but it will likely be at 155 or 170lbs.
TUF Season 31 gets a much needed star power boost
Undoubtedly, this event will put some much needed life and fandom back into The Ultimate Fighter series. McGregor has coached a season of The Ultimate Fighter, opposite of Urijah Faber at season 22 of the popular series.
That season saw ‘The Notorious’ coaching lightweight prospects. However, this season is unknown as to what weight classes they’ll be coaching. It’s likely McGregor could have some difficulty getting back to his lightweight status. After his injury the future hall of famer did some bulking up.
Despite changing weight classes, Chandler would likely accommodate the request. The drawl, pay-per-view proceeds, and potential popularity rise he could receive would be enticing to say the least.
Regardless of what weight class these two fight or coach, fireworks are bound to be intense. With McGregor being one of few fighters to hold championship status in two weight classes, and Michael Chandler certainly being a star on the rise, with wins over top talent in the UFC.
In conclusion, this Ultimate Fighter season is likely to pull new fans and revitalize this reality show. 2023 is shaping up to be a huge year for MMA fans and fighters alike.
