GSP, on the lookout for UFC 143

It looks as though things are starting back up for the UFC Welterweight champion, Georges ‘Rush’ St Pierre (22-2-0), where he recently posted a video to youtube stating that he’s looking forward to UFC 143 where Nick Diaz (26-7-0) will meet Carlos Condit (27-5-0) for the interim welterweight championship.  The winner of Nick Diaz vs Carlos Condit will ultimately have to validate the title by facing off against GSP when he’s received the go ahead from his doctors.

It seems as though most fight fans are writing Carlos Condit off, as though he is just waiting to become a Nick Diaz highlight reel.  Nick Diaz has become a household name for many fight fans, but the fact is that Carlos Condit is a very game opponent for anyone in the welterweight division.  For fight fans not entirely familiar with Carlos Condit we have secured a short video of some of his fight footage, all rights belong to the UFC and ZUFFA for the following footage shown.

Georges St Pierre on the Mend

It appears that the welterweight champ, Georges St Pierre (22-2), will be sidelined for the next 10 months following a new injury, obtained training for Nick Diaz (26-7), that caused serious knee problems.

Apparently the surgery went as well as could be expected but the injury is so severe that it will take that amount of time to fully rehabilitate the injury, according to Georges’ facebook page:

It’s been a month since my surgery and very happy with results- really amazing what the body is capable of. On deck for physio: manual therapy for patellar and scar tissue mobilization, ice, ultrasound, compression, quad sets, straight leg raises, isometric quad and hamstring exercises, increased ROM and stationary cycling…I’d love to hear any tips you might have that could help me!

Until Georges is fight ready, the world of MMA will soldier on and the belt will go up for an interim title holder.  Taking the champs place will Carlos Condit (27-5) against Nick Diaz.

We here at the MMA Beatdown wish Georges St. Pierre a speedy recovery, and we will be looking very forward to your return to the octagon.
