PFL Playoffs 2 2023 Results – Ferreira and Pacheco dominate in 1st round

The PFL Playoffs 2 2023 results have edged fans to just one more playoff card before the November 24th championship arrives. The fights aired live on ESPN+ from The Theater at MGM in New York, NY on Friday August 18, 2023.

Main Event

The main event featured heavyweight finalists Renan Ferreira vs Maurice Greene. The winner would be set to face the #1 pick and early winner in the night, Denis Goltsov.

Ferreira gave no room for Greene to show offense. In the first minute of the fight Ferreira was obviously the aggressor pelting Greene with leg kicks and throwing punches with ill intent. Greene looked like he felt the power of Ferreira and wanted none of it.

Greene nearly made it out of the first round until a big right hand sat him down and followed up with hammer fists to the already unconscious Greene.

Ferreira went on to win by first round KO and sets himself for a fight against an early winner of the night, and number one seed Denis Goltsov.

Co-main Event

The co-main event featured last years winner Larissa Pacheco against finalist Olena Kolesnyk in the women’s featherweight semifinal bout.

There’s not much to write about this one. Larissa started with a leg kick then threw out an overhand right that had Kolesnyk covering and Pacheco was on top of her until the referee stopped the fight in just 12 seconds of the first round.

The fight goes on to secure the #1 pick Larissa Pacheco to take on the #2 pick Marina Mokhnatkina for the final and $1million payday.

• Nathan Kelly (8-2-0) vs Damion Nelson (4-4-0) – featherweight bout – Kelly by unanimous decision
• Danilo Marques (15-5-0) vs Satoshi Ishii (26-14-1) – heavyweight bout – Marques by decision
• Kaytlin Neil (7-5-0) vs Maira Mazar (9-6-0) – women’s flyweight bout – Mazar by decision
