King Mo Lawal tests positive for steroid use
The Nevada State Athletic Commission released, on Tuesday, that fighter Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal tested positive for a steroid called Drostanolone, in his last bout. Lorenz Larkin was King Mo’s most recent opponent and the man who suffered the loss to the alleged steroid user.
According to an MMA Weekly article, Keith Kizer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, wrote an email stating, “All athletes tested negative for prohibited substances, except Mr. Lawal who tested positive for Drostanolone”
King Mo currently denies ever taking the substance. It seems even despite his pleas of innocence King Mo will face disciplinary action. According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission the typical punishment for testing positive for steroid use is a suspension around 9-12 months and a large fine.
