Bellator 293 Results
The Bellator 293 results have taken place live on 3/31/2023 from the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA. Showtime played host the airing of this live event which started the prelims at 4:00pm PT.
Main Event (Bellator 293)
Marcelo Golm vs Daniel James certainly lived up to the hype. Because of these two fighters winning all bouts by way of stoppage, nobody believed we would be in for all five rounds.
Some great back and forth through the first round consequently had Marcelo Golm re-strategizing. Correspondingly in the second round, Golm began to try and wear on his opponent as his style became that of a grimy wrestling nature. Holding the bigger man down, Golm began to wear on his opponent with body strikes and began frustrating him. Any time it went back to standup Golm would eventually find succcess with leg kicks.

Consequently, Daniel James corner began to furiously demand that the American open up with his hands. James began to do just that and found some success with a couple of punching barrages. Finally, it was an uppercut, hook, uppercut combination that had Golm seeing stars and Daniel James seeing another win. In the post fight interview below, Daniel James called out champion Ryan Bader.
Co-main Event (Bellator 293)
Cat Zingano vs Leah McCourt turned out to be a great fight. Leah McCourt struggled to sink her hooks in when she was able to bring the fight to the ground. Coupled with Zingano being able to reverse many of these positions and the night was not going McCourt’s way.
In the third round, Cat Zingano hit Leah McCourt with a knee which accordingly opened up a cut near the eye of the Irish fighter. McCourt quickly took Zingano down with a trip but was once again unable to maintain the dominant position on the ground.

Finally, this fight went to the judges where all three judges gave it to Cat Zingano. The fight was more competitive than the judges scorecards would suggest but the damage that Zingano was able to inflict was another level, as can be seen in the above image.
