Alistair Overeem Tested Positive for Elevated Testosterone Levels
Alistair ‘Demolition Man’ Overeem (36-11 1nc) tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone following a UFC 146 press conference held on March 27th in Las Vegas. Now, Overeem must show up in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission to plead his case before he can be allowed to fight at UFC 146 against the current heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos (14-1).
According to an article posted on Sherdog, “Overeem’s testosterone to epitestosterone (T/E) ratio was greater than 10-to-1, exceeding the allowable 6-to-1 limit. Along with five other competitors, “The Demolition Man” was tested following a UFC 146 press conference in Las Vegas on March 27. Frank Mir, Roy Nelson, Antonio Silva, Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos all produced negative tests. ”
Alistair Overeem’s last fight, and UFC debut, was against Brock Lesnar where he earned an impressive 1st round TKO and secured his position as the number one contender. Now it’s up to the big man and the NSAC to figure out the future for UFC 146 and Overeem.

You have a point, however,Brock Lesnar had a wrltesing background, and he didn’t know how to apply his discipline effectively into MMA. The same thing can happen to Dos Santos, yes he has a BBJ, but since he didn’t really practiced it in MMA, will he know how to use it effectively ? The answer is I have no idea, I haven’t seen him much on the ground. Overeem has a lot of win via submission and ko. Which makes me less worried concerning the ground game and striking. If you wanna exchange your views after the fight or any other fight, my twit name is the same as this one here. Hope to talk more MMA.

mmaislandjunkie, no you are wrong, most guys that size DON’T use, but yes many do. I just get sick of people acuniscg people of using PEDs when they are not using them. I used to weigh 255 every day of the week and was ripped, I was actually bigger than Reem (not as tall but wider) I have never used in my life, it took me 3 years to get that big and then another 5 to take it back off the right way. When I started out I thought muscles were where it was at but they weren’t at least for me, I fought better at 205 without the 6 pack than at 255 with the six pack, I had more energy and was quicker, opposite of Reem because I didn’t need to cut tons of weight to make 205 like he did.
