The PFL Challenger Series week 2 fight card is all set to take stage on Friday, February 3, 2023 live from Universal Studios Orlando, FL, from 9-11pm ET on FuboTV. This one is featuring promising talent from the women’s featherweight division.
The PFL is picking up two new weight classes in women’s MMA. The featherweight and flyweight divisions will be added to the roster. Women’s MMA has a ways to go in the PFL. Currently they only have the lightweight division for women fighters, usually dominated by Kayla Harrison who only recently took her first loss against Larissa Pacheco. So this addition is a welcome change and a great stride to women’s representation in our sport.
That’s right, the women will be front and center at this weeks challenger series competition. Featherweights take the stage and will compete against new comers, and former challenger competitors, at a chance to compete in the regular season (for the $1 million prize) and a contract with the PFL organization.
These ladies are looking to make a statement to the PFL and MMA fans alike. Who will rise to occasion and prove that they deserve a place in the PFL 2023 regular season? Find out Friday, February 3rd, 2023 on Fubo Sports.
That’s it for the PFL Challenger Series Week 2 fight card, 2023. Be sure to check back in to the PFL News when the women’s featherweight division hits the cage on Friday, February 3, 2023 for week 2 of the PFL Challenger Series.

A couple of changeups but the PFL Challenger Series week 1 results are in for the 2023 season. The event aired January 27, 2023 live from Universal Studios, Orlando, FL on Fubo Sports Network.
Some issues occured due to a couple of change ups in the roster. It appears Mostafa Rashed Neda was replaced in his bout against Nick Alley, by Kendley St Louis. St Louis would take advantage of the opportunity and tapped out Alley in round two.
Also, Quemuel Ottoni was injured and forced to withdrawal from his bout with Jozef Wittner. Zach Juusola stepped in to fight against Jozef Wittner and fought out the decision victory.
In the end, it was down to either St Louis or Thad Jean for the contract. A tough decision, as St Louis took his fight with extremely short notice to still pull out a second round stoppage. However, Thad Jean looked sharp in his match against an undefeated opponent in Alequin.
The celebrity votes went to Thad Jean but the fans wanted to see St Louis. The PFL President Ray Sefo stepped in to announce that it would be Thad fighting for the $1 million prize this year. The highlight video is below and the remaining results below that.
Lucas Barbosa (2-2-0) vs Itso Babulaidze (3-0-0) – welterweight bout – Babulaidze by unanimous decision
Eric Alequin (7-1-0) vs Thad Jean (5-0) – welterweight bout – Thad Jean by unanimous decision
Zach Juusola (12-3-0) vs Jozef Wittner (16-3-0) – welterweight bout – Juusola by unanimous decision
Kendley St Louis (8-4-0) vs Nick Alley (7-6-0) – welterweight bout – St Louis via round 2 submission (rear-naked choke)
That’s it for the PFL Challenger Series Week 1 results, 2023. Be sure to check back in to the PFL News when the women’s featherweight division hits the cage on Friday, February 3, 2023 for week 2 of the PFL Challenger Series.

UFC 283 results are in and the new Light-Heavyweight champion is, Jamahal Hill. The event went live on Pay-per-view Saturday January 23, 2022 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In the main event, for the UFC Light-heavyweight championship, Jamahal Hill had Glover Teixeira frustrated from his take down defense, and his ability to land strikes seemingly at will. It became obvious that Teixeira had a hard night ahead of him. The shots continued to get stuffed by Jamahal Hill and Hill continued to pour on damage from superior striking.
There were a couple of times in the fight, where it appeared that the fight would be finished by Jamahal in as early as the second round. Hills ability to keep the fight standing seriously showed the difference in striking skills between these two. All the judges must’ve agreed with that assessment as they all gave Jamahal Hill the decision with all three judges scoring it 50-44.
At the end of the fight, Glover Teixeira announced his retirement and made note of the honor he gets to share that final retirement night with Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua. We thank you both for the amazing fights, inspiration and warrior spirit. Good luck in your futures.
The highly anticipated co-main event saw a unification of the flyweight belt. The fight was competitive until a punch, that possibly ended with a thumb in the eye, caused some major damage. By the third round, the damage to the eye of Figueiredo was too much for the doctor and the fight was concluded. TKO win for the unified flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. Below is Brandon Moreno’s octagon interview, and below that are the remaining UFC 283 results.
Shamil Abdurakhimov #15 (20-8-0) vs Jalton Almeida (18-2-0) – heavyweight bout – Almeida by 2nd round KO/TKO
Luan Lacerda (12-2-0) vs Cody Stamann (21-5-1), – bantamweight bout – Stamann by unanimous decision
Ismael Bonfim (19-3-0) vs Terrance Mckinney (13-5-0) – lightweight bout – Bonfim by 2nd round KO/TKO
Warlley Alves (15-6-0) vs Nicolas Dalby (18-3-1, 1NC) – welterweight bout – Dalby by split decision
Josiane Nunes #15 (10-1-0) vs Zarah Fairn (6-5-0) – women’s featherweight bout – Nunes by unanimous decision
Saimon Oliveira (18-5-0) vs Daniel Marcos (14-0-0) – bantamweight bout – Marcos by round 2 KO/TKO

The UFC 283 Weigh Ins are all accounted for and the event is ready to go live Saturday, January 21,2023 live from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
The fights are headlined by a title fight for the vacated, light heavyweight championship. The belt has been plagued with difficulties since Jiri Prochazka released the title due to an injury, which he didn’t want holding up the division.
Glover Teixeira #2 will take on Jamahal Hill #7 in what promises to be a great matchup in the division. Glover Teixeira has already made it to the mountain top in his division and did so as the second oldest UFC fighter in history, behind Randy Couture. Age doesn’t appear to be slowing this phenom down however, and he’ll look to prove it once again this Saturday.
Jamahal Hill #7 has been on a run in the division, having lost only to Paul Craig once in his last 7 fights. Jamahal Hill is expected to keep this fight at range and utilize his superior striking skills. Teixeira will likely look to use his wrestling, bjj and dirty boxing to nullify this younger fighters striking.
Also on fight card, is the flyweight title matchup, for the forth time, flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo will attempt to unify the flyweight title against interim title holder Brandon Moreno. Both fighters hold a win over the other and with one of the three ending in a drawl, questions remain unanswered. This Saturday these two will put doubters to bed and find out who is the most dominant flyweight in the UFC.
Other fights to take note of on this card are Jessica Andrade vs Lauren Murphy, featured on our top 10 female UFC fighters article. Paul Craig vs Johnny Walker is interesting as Paul Craig may match up well to Jamahal Hill considering their last fight, which Craig won. Gilbert Burns is back to take on crafty veteran Neil Magny. Finally, Shogun Rua has his final fight against Ihor Potieria in honor of an amazing fighting career. Here are the remaining UFC 283 weigh ins.
Saimon Oliveira (18-4-0), (-145), (136lbs) vs Daniel Marcos (13-0-0), (+125), (136lbs) – bantamweight bout

The 2023 PFL week 1 fight card, for the challenger series, is announced and the first week is featuring the welterweights. The fights go live this Friday, January 27, 2023 from Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. The challenger series will air live for the 8 straight weeks for free on Fubo Sports network.
The Professional Fighters League handles things a little differently than most MMA organizations. The biggest difference is the fight season. In the Challenger series, the PFL is pitting promising new talent against each other, in the hopes of earning a PFL contract and getting a chance to compete in the PFL regular season.
This card holds some interesting talent in the welterweight division. The main event will see Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa, a BJJ star with a win over Gilbert Burns, make the move to MMA. His opponent is Itso Babulaidze, who won his PFL debut by knockout.
The co-main event will feature the undefeated CFFC welterweight champion Eric Alequin, as he faces off against Thad Jean who also has an undefeated status. These two will have to prove their dominance over the other to secure their place in the 2023 PFL regular season.
Quemuel ‘Manumito’ Ottoni has the boast of defeating UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira and currently rides a 5 fight win streak. His opponent, Jozef Wittner, is on a 4 fight win streak and both men will put it all on the line for the chance to fight in the PFL regular season, and possibly earn a $1 million payday.

The UFC 283 fight card, Teixeira vs Hill is announced and it looks like a good night for MMA fans. The card is headlined by Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill for the elusive, vacated, light-heavyweight title, and co-headlined by a unification fight for the flyweight title. It all goes down on Pay Per View Saturday January 21, 2023 from Rio de Janeiro.
The light-heavyweight title was vacated by Jiri Prochazka after he beat Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 in June of 2022. After Jiri Prochazka submitted Teixeira, he was slated to rematch Glover Teixeira to bring back one of the greatest MMA fights of 2022. An injury, sustained at Prochazka’s gym, resulted in a recovery time that left the champion unwilling to hold up the division and he announced he would release his champion status.
After the injury was announced, the UFC reached out to Teixeira for a vacated title fight against Magomed Ankalaev but they could not agree on a date so the UFC pivoted. The next announcement was Jan Blachowicz #2 vs Magomed Ankalaev #3 at UFC 282 for the vacated title. That fight became a drawl and the UFC remained without a crowned light-heavyweight champion. Before the fighters even got a chance to shower, the UFC announced the next light-heavyweight title fight, Teixeira vs Hill.
The co-main event on this features flyweight champion vs interim champion in a fight to unify the flyweight championship. These men are no strangers to each other, as they both have wins over one another going into their forth fight, for the UFC’s first quadrilogy. Hand injuries have taken out Figueiredo leaving Moreno the opportunity to take the interim belt and setup another rematch which will take place at UFC 283.
Below are the remaining matches for this stacked UFC card, which includes fan favorites like Gilbert Burns, Neil Magny and even one of our top 10 female UFC fighters Jessica Andrade.
Saimon Oliveira (18-4-0), () vs Daniel Marcos (13-0-0), () – bantamweight bout

Francis Ngannou leaves UFC after contract negotiations cease, according to Dana White’s post fight press conference following UFC Vegas 67. In the press conference, Dana announced that the discussions could go no further as they offered him the highest heavyweight pay of all time and he still wasn’t interested, citing issues with freedom in the new UFC agreement.
The announcement comes on the heels of rumors that Francis Ngannou is entertaining offers from the PFL. The PFL recently signed Jake Paul as a fighter/promoter and the move to possibly secure Francis Ngannou makes for some very entertaining possibilities.
With the announcement comes changes to the upcoming UFC 285, which was Jones vs Ngannou. That fight is off the table, obviously, so the UFC brass has shifted to pit the return of Jon Jones to face the #1 UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane for the now vacated UFC Heavyweight title.
As for the current UFC heavyweight champion, the options are out there and the PFL has already had rumors buzzing about adding the phenom to their rosters. Fight fans may have lost the opportunity to see Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou but hopefully his future remains bright and we get to see him in the cage soon.
Hopefully, the UFC will not have as many problems filling this vacated title as they have with the light-heavyweight title vacated by Jiri Prochazka after a shoulder injury occurred in training. Jones and Gane will definitely do everything in their power to stop that outcome.

The UFC Vegas 67 results have gone down and the first event of the year is in the books. The event aired on ESPN+ live with prelims at 3:00pm CST from UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV.
In the main event, Nassourdine Imavov was pitted against the last event headliner of 2022, Sean Strickland. The fight was put together on short notice when Kelvin Gastelum had to withdrawal due to an injury sustained during training. Strickland stepped in to save the headline and the fight was a go.
Strickland came out more aggressively than he did against his last match with Cannonier. It was a slug fest throughout the entire fight with Strickland being the busier fighter. Imavov’s corner knew he was behind during the championship rounds, demanding he knockout Strickland or take the loss. The fight did go the distance and Strickland found the judges supported his victory tonight.
Dan Ige vs Damon Jackson was the co-main event of UFC Vegas 67. The results for this one favored Dan Ige. After a rough first round, that was interupted by an eye poke, Ige found his moment in the second round when a left hook found its mark with under a minute left in the round. It was a big shot and a great night for Dan Ige.
Russian fighter Umar Nurmagomedov saw his stock rise, as he finished his opponent with a well placed left that shut Barcelos’ lights out. The win propels the undefeated Russian to (16-0-0). Making him a fighter worth taking notice.
Javid Basharat (14-0-0) vs Mateus Mendonca (10-1-0) – bantamweight bout – Basharat by unanimous decision
Claudio Ribeiro (10-3-0) vs Abdul Razak Alhassan (12-5-0) – middleweight bout – Alhassan by round 2 KO
Mateusz Rebecki (17-1-0) vs Nick Fiore (6-1-0) – lightweight bout – Rebecki by unanimous decision
Allan Nascimento (20-6-0) vs Carlos Hernandez (8-2-0) – flyweight bout – Nascimento by round 1 submission (rear-naked choke)
Nick Aguirre (7-1-0) vs Daniel Argueta (9-1-0) – featherweight bout – Argueta by unanimous decision
Charles Johnson (13-3-0) vs Jimmy Flick (16-6-0) – flyweight bout – Charles Johnson by round 1 TKO
