Dan Henderson Next in Line Pending a Win at UFC 157

In a division that seemed to be getting tougher and tougher to make title fights for, UFC brass has found a contender worth mention.  Dan Henderson, who was originally scheduled to fight for the light heavyweight title back at UFC 151 in 2012, may get his shot to take the gold if he can get past the very talented, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.

Unfortunately, Dan Henderson had to withdrawal from the originally scheduled bout due to a knee injury that sidelined him for the better part of a year.  Now Hendo is back, and with the knee injury all but a distant memory he’s ready to attempt to take UFC gold from the proud hands of light heavyweight champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.

There’s no doubt that a fight between these two would generate a lot of buzz for mixed martial arts fans wanting to see the only former Pride Fighting champion to hold belts in two different weight classes at the same time return to former glory but Lyoto Machida has different plans.

Be sure to tune in to see if Hendo will make the title fight at UFC 157 Rousey vs. Carmouche Live on Pay-Per-View Saturday, February 23rd @ 7pm/10pm PT/ET from the Anaheim, CA Honda Center.
